Friends of The Weaving Shed…

A small number of original weaving shuttles are being carefully restored and will form part of a permanent installation within the completed building. These shuttles once carried thread across the looms. Now, they will carry forward the names of those who helped bring the building back to life.

    We use Zeffy as our donation platform because they do not charge any transaction fees to non-profit organisations and Community Interest Companies. This means every pound you give supports the restoration of the building, heritage activities, and community programmes.

    Zeffy may optionally invite donors to leave a voluntary contribution to support their platform, but this is entirely optional and can be adjusted or declined. Thread & Butter Collective CIC receives the full amount of your donation.

  • Thread & Butter Collective CIC is a registered Community Interest Company, not a registered charity. This means donations are not eligible for Gift Aid. However, every contribution goes directly toward restoring the weaving shed and delivering community heritage activities. Your support has a real and lasting impact.

We expect the building to reopen in phases, with community activities and exhibitions beginning during the restoration period, and full public opening anticipated in 2027. Supporters will receive updates as the project progresses.

  • Yes. You will receive an email confirmation immediately after donating. Supporters who select a recognition or café voucher will also receive a digital acknowledgement, with further details provided closer to the building’s reopening.

    Donations to Thread & Butter Collective CIC are made in good faith to support the restoration of the historic weaving shed at Woodend Mill and the delivery of associated heritage and community activities.

    Thread & Butter Collective CIC is committed to delivering this project and all supporter recognitions as described. However, heritage projects are complex and subject to factors beyond our direct control, including funding approvals, regulatory permissions, and conservation requirements.

    In the unlikely event that the project cannot proceed as planned, donations will continue to be used solely to support the charitable and community purposes of Thread & Butter Collective CIC, in accordance with its registered Community Interest Company status.

    Donations are voluntary and non-refundable.
